Business companies have accumulated the huge amount of data and it increases perpetually. Databases may contain useful information and knowledge. But it is not a very effective way to reveal such knowledge with simple database queries, data filtration or cross tabulation. For instance, using a query, one can get data, which he needs. But it is not always the case. In big data bases, there may exist data patterns, about which users even do not know. Hi-tech enterprises cannot do without application of computational intelligence technologies for their research. The solution of these contemporary challenges is the more intensive use of computational intelligence technologies. The general informatics course should give backgrounds and demonstrate elementary ideas for the successful understanding of the intelligence technologies in further studies. The aim of the paper is to point out, what topics in informatics general course should be toughed and not skipped to promote better understanding of such computer intelligence technologies as genetic algorithms, fuzzy logic, artificial neural networks, Kohonen maps and data or knowledge mining. The aim is met by shortly discussing the key elements of the above mentioned technologies and making suggestions to the content of the informatics course. The research revealed that it was possible and essential to pay attention to the following topics: operations with Boolean variables, a bit and text strings, the plotting of stepwise, triangular, trapezoidal and Gaussian curves and investigating their form dependence on parameters, calculating the area under curves and the numerical integration of definite integrals, solving of inequalities, generating random numbers with given distribution and the usage of random numbers to simulate random events with given probability, the usage of an IF operator with the Boolean variable in the condition part, the search of the minimum and maximum elements of an array, simple optimization and error minimization algorithms, the usage of Microsoft Excel tool Solver for the optimization, mapping 3D points on 2D plane in various directions by changing the parameters of mapping equations, usage the links between programs of the same computer and in the network. Sparčiai vystantis informacinių sistemų kūrimo galimybėms ir technologijoms keičiasi darbo aplinka daugelyje žmogaus veiklos sričių. Verslo įmonės yra sukaupusios didžiulius kiekius duomenų, ir tas kiekis sparčiai auga. Todėl duomenų apdorojimas ir analizė reikalauja ne tik spartesnės techninės įrangos, analizė tampa vis sudėtingesnė, duomenis reikia paversti naudinga informacija. Įvairiose technikos srityse taip pat atsiranda vis sudėtingesni duomenų apdorojimo ir optimizacijos uždaviniai. Vienas iš būdų tokiems uždaviniams įveikti yra intelektualiųjų informatikos technologijų taikymas. Šių technologijų pagrindai turi glaudų ryšį ir su informatika. Straipsnyje aptariami neraiškiosios logikos, genetinių algoritmų, dirbtinių neuronų tinklų, Kohoneno žemėlapių ir žinių gavybos pagrindai, kurių elementai galėtų ir turėtų būti nagrinėjami bendrajame informatikos kurse.
