The review indicates that there is not a holistic approach towards exploring the science/technology interface, but a number of studies that address this area from various angles: the overall connection between the bodies of science and technology, as exemplified by the patent citation connection; the industrial science connection, exemplified by publication activity of industrial researchers in business firms; and the technological aspects of scientific activity, as exemplified by university patenting.
